LVDR Policies
We have a NO destruction policy.
- All prospective adopters will be vetted prior to adoption.
- No dog from Lea Valley Dog Rescue will be bred from.
- All Adult dogs are neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to being rehomed.
- Puppies are vaccinated prior to being rehomed. They must be neutered by the adopting family before their 1st season for a female or by the age of 9 months for a male (although some dogs will vary depending on age and breed)
- We will require a vet reference as proof of neutering if a dog was too young to be neutered at the time of adoption.
- All dogs homed by us will live indoor as an integral member of the family. They must not be used for guarding, hunting, breeding or any commercial purpose.
- All dogs homed by us will receive adequate vet attention should they become ill.
- All dogs will be exercised regularly/daily.
- No dog homed by us will be left alone for long periods of time.
- Training classes are strongly recommended for puppies & partially trained dogs.
- Dogs homed by us must be returned to us in the unfortunate circumstances that the adoptive family can no longer keep them. We offer our dog’s lifetime back up.
- It is highly recommended by Lea Valley Dog Rescue that adopters take out pet insurance.
- Adopters will seek advice from a positive based behaviorist should any issues arise that the adopter feels they need help with. They will also seek help and support from Lea Valley Dog Rescue.
- We require a minimum donation of £400.00 to help us recover some of the cost of housing, feeding, neutering, vaccination, micro- chipping & veterinary attention. This is Non-Refundable.
